October 8, 1936 - May 7, 2018
Mary Margaret Sullivan was the first child born to Jane and William Sullivan in Donna, Texas on October 8, 1936. She passed from this earthly life on May 7, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arthur Gene and William E. Sullivan. She is survived by her brother, John, and his wife, Dolores Sullivan of Harlingen. Other survivors are niece, Jennifer Sullivan, nephews, John Patrick, William, Mark, and Michael Sullivan. In addition she had two great nieces, Desirae and Emily Mariah Sullivan.
Margaret enjoyed a long career serving unemployed people at the Texas Employment Commission (aka Texas Workforce Commission). During which time she was active in the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES) attending conferences, state and international conventions. Next she happily enjoyed 20 years of retirement. Margaret traveled the world while working and in retirement. She was a member of the “Christian Singles” Sunday School class at the First United Methodist Church, Garland, Texas. And she was also active with a group of retired friends known by different names, i.e. Lucky Tribe, Running Buddies, Birthday group. She is the third in that group to depart this earthly life.
A memorial service for Margaret will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018, 10 a.m. at the
First United Methodist Church, 801 West Avenue B, Garland, Texas 75040.
In the tradition of TEC and Methodists, light refreshments will be served after the service. The family requests no flowers.
