Norma Jean Lovan was born on June 29, 1929 in Lincoln, Illinois to Edward O’Dell Faul and Mildred Delores Kistner and passed away on May 15, 2018 in Plano, Texas at the age of 88 years.
Norma grew up in Lincoln, Illinois and graduated from St Mary’s Catholic grade school and Lincoln High School. She started in high school as a secretary of the State Bank of Lincoln. At the State Bank, Norma progressed from teller, to head teller, to Cashier. From Cashier Norma relocated to the loan department and was promoted to an Assistant Vice President overseeing the loan department. She retired in that position in December 1989 after over 42 years of service. Norma lived in Lincoln until she and husband Don relocated to the Dallas area in April 2016 to be with their son Bradley.
In addition to a busy work schedule Norma loved cooking, reading, bike riding day trips with family and anything involving shopping. Especially garage sales with her Aunt Cele who was her second mother. During retirement Norma also enjoyed trips to the riverboat for late night gambling session with husband Don. Above all else family was important to Norma and she always put family above her own interest and lived for her family.
Norma Jean Faul married Donald Duane Lovan on May 30, 1959 in Peoria, IL. This began a life long love affair of a couple that were truly best friends. Each took care of the other and exhibited by the care Donald exhibited in the later years.
Norma was a member of the Holy Famly Church in Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents who we know are now rejoycing together.
Norma is survived by her husband of nearly 59 years Donald. One son Bradley, son-in-law Joel and 3 fur grandchildren Mika, Rory and Chowder all of Plano, Texas as well as extended family and friends out of state.
Norma will be cremated and brought home to her family. A small family memorial will be held to celebrate her beautiful life Friday evening May 18 with Father Henry of Coppell Texas officiating.
